A Wedding and a Sunset

After a week filled with fun (Hump Day drinks, new hair color, movie night, and a birthday) I was my mother's plus-one to one of her coworkers' weddings last Saturday! And what a swanky wedding it was... Hosted by a well-known local Italian family (the bride's) at the nicest hotel in San Jose (the Fairmont), all 200+ guests wined, dined, and danced all night long! I mean, the table wine alone was probably worth a tank of gas a bottle! Amazing. I would never complain about living a more humble lifestyle, but ritz-ing it up every once in a while is always an exciting adventure.

It's funny, I've only been to 3 weddings in my whole life and this month alone I will be attending 3 more (counting last Saturday's)! 2012 has definitely been the year of Til Death Do Us Part... it seems like I would need 3 sets of hands to count all the people I know who have gotten engaged and/or hitched in the past 10 months. But I guess since we're all in our mid-20s, 'tis the biological season! Not gonna lie - it's also a bit stressful. Every time another acquaintance of mine walks around with a new ring on her finger, it's guaranteed I'll be asked "when is it your turn?" I've been with Paul nearly 3 years now, so I suppose it's a natural inquisition, but I hate the underlying pressure. I just want to live life and enjoy how well things are going right now! Plenty of time to be married for the rest of my life.

Anyway. I wasn't sure exactly how much we were supposed to dress up, so I sported my new pretty peach H & M dress for the event:

It's so soft and flow-y and feminine - totally not my normal style, but I'm experimenting with new things! I love the embroidered collar :)

Sunday was spent primarily in my pj's, on the couch, Project Runway on the TV, crafting up a storm! I added 28 new pieces to the shop yesterday - an impressive feat if you know how long it takes to add listings to Etsy! But I didn't mind; I love doing it. It's almost relaxing.. kitties at my feet, pliers in my hand, coffee on the table, and not a care in the world!

And to top off the weekend, look at this incredible sky from last night! Completely natural, no filter or other adjustments:

I could have just flown away into that sunset and said goodbye to the world! I love Californian sunsets. My Instagram feed is filled with them. They're so vibrant and stunning and organic and beautiful. Nothing puts me more at peace that this background to my evening.
